The Bicester Collection

The Bicester Collection is a family of 11 luxury open-air shopping destinations across Europe and China. Each village offers a unique blend of premium brands, dining, and service, located just outside major cities like London, Paris, and Shanghai. Renowned for exclusive shopping experiences and year-round savings. In Belgium, Maasmechelen Village is part of this collection.

We worked on a European advertising campaign for The Bicester Collection, where each of the nine Villages has its own unique identity. There are clear differences between countries, but also within a single country. Our challenge was to translate these identities into sound and music. To do this authentically, we traveled to several locations to capture ambient sounds and worked closely with every Village to define their sonic identity.

The campaign spans three major seasons: Spring/Summer, Autumn/Winter, and Holidays (Christmas). The music and sound design evolved with each season, ensuring the audio experience felt fresh and relevant. Yet, despite these variations, a shared sound identity runs through all Villages, ensuring a sense of unity across the campaign.

Spring/Summer 2025 campaign

Kildare Village

For Kildare Village, we embraced a truly Irish approach. Shifting the musical rhythm to 6/8 time, instead of the traditional 2/4. We created a soundscape alive with birdsong, lush greenery, and the gentle flow of streaming water, evoking the heart of Ireland’s natural beauty.

Maasmechelen Village

Surrounded by old mining towers, mountains (Terhills), a lake with watersports, and a wellness center, all beside a stunning national park, Maasmechelen blends acoustic natural sounds with the vibrant energy of Belgian house music. A perfect mix of accoustic music and the sound of Belgium.

La Roca Village

Sophisticated and cinematic, La Roca channels the vibe of Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Nestled by the sea, its soundtrack is a blend of gentle guitars, birdsong, and the Mediterranean breeze, chill, serene, and effortlessly stylish. A stark contrast to the livelier, youthful energy of Las Rozas.

Wertheim Village

With its romantic architecture and a landscape where nature meets industry, Wertheim contrasts its historic charm with the dynamic energy of sportswear and youth culture. The result? A fusion of classical romance, think Beethoven, but cool, with modern hip-hop and R&B beats.

Autumn/Winter campaign 2025

La Vallée Village

Inspired by the jazz music of the 1920s and 1940s, La Vallée thrives on live piano and soulful performances. This elegance seamlessly extends into the City of Fashion, Paris. Soft as cashmere, refined, and subtly infused with classical influences, the sound here is timeless.

Christmas campaign 2025

Nestled in nature, Bicester Village exudes quiet elegance and British sophistication. Inspired by icons like The Beatles, the atmosphere is mature, refined, and steeped in a sense of understated luxury. For this Christmas campaign, we cleared the iconic music of The Nutcracker, and recorded a voice-over to enhance the festive experience.
